The National Academy of Technologies of France, a public institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, has as one of its missions the promotion of technological progress in the service of humanity, the environment and the general interest.
As a trusted third party between the State, businesses and the public, it informs society about the technological solutions available to address today’s major challenges: ensuring a successful energy transition, adapting to climate change, expanding access to education and employment, and developing a healthcare system for all. The Academy informs public debate, advises decision-makers and promotes the collective, reasoned appropriation of technologies.

An ethical approach at the heart of our actions
Thanks to the wide-ranging expertise of its members, the Academy is able to shed original light on issues relating to technologies and their interaction with society. It carries out its work in complete independence, and places the societal and ethical dimensions of technologies at the heart of its reflections:
- the energy transition to combat climate change ;
- the digital transformation of all business sectors; and
- increasing the technological skills of SMEs and their growth into mid-sized companies (ETI);
- Combating unemployment, particularly among young people, through educational transition, education and initial and lifelong technological training for the jobs of the future;
- regional economic development and job creation through technology;
- improving French people’s health and diet;
- the mobility and transport of the future;
- biotechnologies and their economic potential;
- development aid for the least developed countries.
